PepsiCo’s new food factory in Ninh Bình utilizes renewable energy in production. These initiatives are expected to contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and support Vietnam’s Net Zero commitment roadmap.
PepsiCo Vietnam Food Co., Ltd. officially inaugurated the PepsiCo Ninh Bình Food Factory, located in the expanded Đồng Văn I Industrial Park, Ninh Bình Province. The factory was completed in just 51 weeks—a record for PepsiCo in the Asia-Pacific region.
With an investment of approximately USD 90 million (over VND 2,269 billion), the Ninh Bình Food Factory is one of PepsiCo’s largest projects, boasting an annual production capacity exceeding 25,000 tons of snacks. It is equipped with advanced, automated, and digitized production lines that enhance product quality, optimize operations, and ensure efficiency and stability. The entire process—from raw material intake to finished products—is managed with speed, precision, and sustainability, allowing the factory to meet growing consumer demand with consistent quality while reinforcing PepsiCo’s commitment to economic growth and sustainable development in Vietnam.
A key highlight of the factory is its environmental and sustainability orientation, aligned with PepsiCo Positive (pep+), the company’s comprehensive transformation program. The factory incorporates renewable energy solutions such as rooftop solar panels and a biomass system using agricultural by-products to generate energy. These measures are expected to reduce CO₂ emissions and support Vietnam’s Net Zero goals.
Once operational, the Ninh Bình Food Factory will create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in production, packaging, and logistics, while also supporting local community development and expanding the local raw material supply chain.
“We highly appreciate PepsiCo’s strong commitment and social responsibility toward the community and environment in Ninh Bình. The construction and operation of this factory not only promote economic growth and create jobs for locals, but also represent a significant step in enhancing product quality and applying advanced, sustainable technology,” said Trần Huy Tuấn, Chairman of Ninh Bình Provincial People’s Committee.
Anne Tse, Regional CEO of PepsiCo Foods for Asia-Pacific, noted that the investment reflects PepsiCo’s confidence in Vietnam as a key growth market in the region. “The new factory complements our existing network, opens new growth opportunities, strengthens cooperation with local farmers, and generates additional employment. The production lines are designed to meet changing consumer demands while contributing to Vietnam’s economic development and sustainability goals,” she emphasized.
Marc E. Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, added: “PepsiCo’s USD 90 million investment in Ninh Bình clearly demonstrates strong confidence of U.S. businesses in Vietnam’s economic future.”
Over more than three decades in Vietnam, one of PepsiCo’s notable achievements has been establishing a sustainable high-tech potato value chain. Through a public-private partnership under the Vietnam Sustainable Agriculture Partnership (PSAV) with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, PepsiCo introduced proprietary potato varieties, modern cultivation practices, and long-term procurement commitments. Since 2023, potatoes from PepsiCo’s linked chain in Vietnam have been exported to Thailand, paving the way for Vietnamese agricultural products to gain regional recognition.
